Editing TheGrayLady would tweet whenever there were changes to the online version of an article, headline, or abstract in the New York Times.

Sometimes this reflected a change in information (updates to ongoing breaking news stories would appear there), or they would reflect a change in spin - and the latter are

In seriousness, though, as speculated in the article, there’s no fucking way they ever get to this. Considering the pacing of the show, as is, it’ll take about six or seven seasons just to cover the original trilogy.

For those who swear they’ve seen that actor before, he played Waris Hussein in An Adventure in Space and Time. He was also Davos on Iron Fist and was a series regular on the short lived NBC sitcom Outsourced.

Oh yeah, Thrill me!

It’s really fantastic. I used to rent this bad boy all the time growing up. Most people bring up Monster Squad when they talk about Dekker, but this is the movie that I feel really showed what he could do in genre films.

HP movies actually leave out a lot of important character details and plot points. Things that are actually important to the overall story, which leaves the later films having to work around never having explained any of it before.

You should absolutely watch it, if nothing but Steve being a better mother to the kids than their actual parents.

Obligatory:

Why is Tatiana Maslany not a bigger star yet?

Weird man babies aren’t scary. They make for pretty easy shooting targets.

Holy carp the Elfo thing. I hate the narrative that seems to always show up in these shows. Shlubby, unattractive, unintelligent but nice(ish) guys! Keep pursuing the girl who has told you many times she’s not interested! Keep wearing her down! Be an ass when she shows interest in other men! Be the Nice Guy(tm) until

Meh episodes of Futurama still had actual laughs.

It felt like they’d written the characters into some roles and then retooled them at some point.

Yeah, I think back to how hooked I was by Futurama’s first episode. The scene meeting Bender at the Suicide Booth was so fucking hilarious. And I loved the tone it set. By contrast after 4 or 5 episodes so far I’m waiting for Disenchantment to hook me.

Definitely agree about Elfo. He was a much better character when his schtick was being the hapless optimist schlimazel rather than friendzoned unrequited love

My feeling is that the constant need for jokes has a detrimental effect on these kinds of shows over the long term. Part of what made The Simpsons and Futurama great was that they had well wrought-out characters and settings that were highly consistent for many years. At some point, the writers stopped caring about

Very nice observation, LL. I never could quite put my finger on why the Simpsons lost its way. That's it exactly.

In my experience the old folks who are really afraid of “false reports” are folks who are worried they will be caught for their behavior.

Just a warm note that, according to research, the rate of false reports of abuse are somewhere between 2% and 10%, which is to say they are immensely uncommon. Believe victims.

Capaldi should have had more episodes and better writing, he was absolutely robbed.
