(commented on the wrong post, nevermind)

I’ve been regularly unable to fall asleep until after 4 for a week or two now. I’m lucky enough to work part-time from home and set my own hours, so sleeping in till 1 PM isn’t a huge problem, but it’s still annoying to have so little daylight. This has happened to me in almost every period of my life where I didn’t ha

100 lb/ft of torque? That’s nothing for an electric motor. A first-gen Nissan Leaf motor makes the same horsepower but twice the torque.

I think he meant the cop was trying to hold back the wolves.

Look, we all know Joe’s not the perfect dream candidate. No one is. But every time people start to nitpick what he says, I can’t help but wonder... have you seen the competition? All of the so-called “gaffes” Biden has made in his life are nothing compared to the hateful, incoherent blithering we have to endure every

I can’t wait for the kid to change his name to Geo.

Musk is the real Obadiah Stane.

First of all, Elon and Grimes have proven with this whole debacle that they have absolutely no right to be parents to a human baby. They’ve named the poor sap something that can’t even be pronounced in any language. Everything, including the life of an actual baby, is a joke to them. I feel so sorry for the kid.

I dunno, I’m kinda scared of a lot of the commenters here. Stabbing and burning action figures is straight-up serial-killer-in-the-making behavior.

I think it’s pretty clear that he knows they’re alive and is torturing them on purpose.

Kids almost always anthropomorphize their toys. Sid may not have known they were sentient, but he must have been imagining that they were. His behavior firmly places him in the category of “burning bugs with a magnifying glass” kid characters who end up killing humans later in life.

Exactly. My favorite analogy for that is “The parachute slowed my fall! I can take it off now!” (while still falling)

That’s a good analogy, but people who don’t understand why masks and distancing only work together probably won’t understand airbags either. There are actually people who think they don’t need to wear seatbelts because they have airbags, despite having it explained to them thousands of times that airbags only work as

Alright, I won’t buy a rental car that a bunch of people have had sex with.

Wow! I had no idea that existed.

This article is just as much about cars as any of the articles on other facets of car culture. Methinks a touch of subconscious (or not) misogyny has influenced your opinion.

I live in Canada and don’t see very many 500s, but it makes sense that they’d be more common in the UK where smaller cars are the norm. It honestly never occurred to me to wonder if there was a certain demographic that was into them, but I guess every car has a fan base. TIL.

That’s fair. I haven’t looked much deeper than that into the Parker car, and maybe the date is inaccurate, but what I took away from it was that the 1886 Benz was just another in a long line of early vehicle designs (although it just occurred to me that, while it wasn’t the first car, it might be the earliest car

Here’s 3 sources for the 1884 date:
