Not gonna lie - this is so unexpected for the area that I cried when I saw it yesterday. Yes, Nashville is slightly more left than the other parts of the state, but it’s still full of rednecks within the city limits. This is the last kind of story that I ever expected to see and it was amazing.

It was a particularly odd feeling being excited that we’ve reached WYTS season, and then realizing it will be [checks notes (that can’t be right!), double-checks notes - Holy shit!] three weeks before the Browns article.

I grew up in a town with a lot of Revolutionary War Heroes and some people who went on to shape our government. Behind my middle school there is a small pond that was once a lake that got filled in over time until became the small pond we know today. Apparently the rich, famous family that lived next door to where my

“The one thing about living in Santa Carla that I never could stomach: all the damned dentists.”

Also thanks for that recommendation! I don’t usually listen to podcasts, but that sounds like one I’d like.

Yeah the author I mentioned—Guinn—has written about both Manson and Jim Jones and said Jones would have been wanted Manson wanted to be. But he was such a fuck-up and a weirdo that his cult was never going to be more than a handful of confused burnt-out hippie kids and runaways because he had no idea how to interact

Meh I thought Bugliosi could be annoying and arrogant, but that hardly makes him worse than Manson.

Crystal Dunn was the Player of the Match, though.

This makes me sad. It has been a genuine joy watching Porsha come into her own over her time on the show and she is one of the funniest people on TV right now.

He was clearly a no good fellow but Porsha had “happily ever after” goggles on. Andy Cohen and producers are salivating over yet another real housewives break up drama. The gods of reality tv plots must be fed.

I liked the Hawaii season, but I totally agree that it was basically when the tide started to turn and the cast wasn’t nearly as real anymore, and went from being basically themselves to characters. Because David is right....there is nothing on television that can compare to those first few season of the RW. It’s

I can’t agree. I read the entire profile and I think Shapiro was as generous as you can be with a person who suddenly and without context claims in a hearing that her kids were molested by a “pedophile family” and then offers no elaboration. Her evidence of poisoning is that she has heavy metals in her blood, but the

Ha - one of my friends is a Chris P. (not one of the famous ones - my friend is a grumpy Dominican IT wizard) and we have always called him Crispy.

Great article! I’m so glad this issue is getting some well-deserved publicity. Sadly, I think every university has the story of the adjunct sleeping in their car (just like every PhD program has the myth of the 15 year doctoral student; sort of a take on the Phantom of the Opera). Once upon a time, my course in life

How would you like that on your resume?

To add another layer of fun, imagine this being read by Bill Hader impersonating Keith Morrison.

My favorite interview ever was when Snoop Dogg - fucking Snoop Dogg - said that when he smoked out with Willie, that Willie was the only person to make him go “I had to hit the timeout button”.

Of course it’s okay to critique a song... but maybe if you’re gonna do it try to have a better argument than

Counterargument: Taylor Swift is fucking cool?

honestly, it’s like yall are just out there desperately trying to find something to complain about. the song is a great step for her and it’s fun and catchy. so yes, you are a bad faith critic, whatever that means.
