Exactly - I’ve seen them too, and this is exactly right. They appreciate that their early hits have allowed them to have a career in music, and that concerts are for the fans.  And they’ll always throw in a few fan favorite deeper cuts like Never Tell or Dance Mother Fucker Dance.

Violent Femmes’ s/t debut is this perfect, cohesive nugget of disaffected, outsider teenage punk on acoustic instruments. I love many of their subsequent albums, like the wild American Gothic nightmare of Hallowed Ground, or the throwback stomp of American Music.  But that first album was the A that nothing else could

He directed Death to Smoochy after that. So that might have been the coffin nail.

The spinoff will air 20 years from now, set in 2016. Philip and Elizabeth are managers of a Russian troll farm in St. Petersburg dedicated to subverting United States’ democratic institutions and geopolitical leadership. Westworld Season 3: Who Wants To Fuck A Dinosaur?

“They think immigrants are lazy bums mooching off of taxpayer dollars.” Our president just called immigrants inhuman, and animals. Lazy bums is like several levels of kindness above what right wing America currently thinks of POC.

The Bighead ice-cup gag killed me.

“We had a drink called “the latest technology” that was equal parts tab, jagermeister, and nyquil.” These may be the most amazing words ever combined in the English language.

It says a lot about America that you can have a movie where dozens or hundreds of people are violently killed (say, The Dark Knight) and get a PG-13, but sex or nudity gets the R. One of these things will be a natural part of almost all of our lives; the other hopefully will not for any of us. And yet, we’re scared of

Did anyone watch the whole video? Shit starts getting pretty real around 5:30, and it goes on another 20 minutes from there!

I’ve watched all four seasons of this show, and still can’t for the life of me understand why it needs to continue.

Weirdly, Hicks only has a 4.11 K/9 to show for that insane heat, likely because hitters know he has no idea where it’s going - peep that 7.63 BB/9 rate. Still, not bad for a 21 year old who’d never thrown above A ball before this month.

I can’t believe I’m still watching this show. It began with an intriguing premise and over the top sense of mirthful fun. At this point, it’s a slog, just a mean spirited soap opera full of nonsensical plot twists.

Nolan uses Manhattan as an example, but it’s far from the only example. There have been massive runups on price in most major cities. The bay area and Manhattan are just the most egregious ones. But when a 1000 sq ft shack in a marginal part of Austin is commanding $500k, something has gone wonky in the ol’

He certainly gives me hope as I become older, fatter, and more physically worthless.

Sounds like it’ll be a real pick-me-up!

I came here to post this exact triumvirate of songs, which are each goddamn masterpieces that work beautifully together as a suite.
