Participation trophies aren’t for the kids. The kids know they’re bullshit. The trophies are for the parents who won’t admit their kid sucks at something.

*WARNING* Semi-hot take: Participation trophies are not a good thing, if people are constantly and consistently rewarded for simply showing up. The develop the belief that whatever they do is good enough and should be rewarded.
