cuz!
Are you Lucille Ball?
my god, you’re right. Never thought of it like that before, but it really is. Except these guys are not willing to go as dark or hard as Capote. So they pick a topic they find “lighter” - sexual assault. Lovely.
I just googled it, and Kate Bosworth genuinely has heterochromia.
Chaz!
Yeah, it’s all about states’ rights.
God damn. That is weird and fucked up.
wtf?
Well... Gigi is genuinely kinda creepy.
Fair enough. I was expressing support for a black doll who doesn’t have to deal with the ugliest parts of history. I lapped up pretty much all of those AG books, and I think that they are all worthwhile. But I think that having a black doll who is portrayed as having a normal tween-girl kind of life is a good thing.…
Addy’s books were actually kind of rough. They trod a fine line between not terrifying children and not sugar coating the experiences of black Americans in the mid 19th century. I’m sure they didn’t do little me any harm but tonally, I would say they are much darker than the other American Girl books.
All of those situations are bad, but experienced secondhand. Something bad happens to someone the protagonist is close too, as opposed to something very bad happening to the protagonist, which is what Addy deals with.
That shade does not suit her complexion. I doubt it would suit anyone’s actually.
Thank you, and I’m sorry I didn’t mention your mom’s death in my original post. I was transfixed by Indian food.
1. excellent username
Vice takes a lot of crap from gawkerites, but I generally find their stuff interesting. McSweeney’s Internet Tendency is always good for a quick laugh.
Nooooo :(
But those problems are less photogenic, right?
Really, if it gets you what you need, I’d say go for it. I was being judgy about Beiber and Degeneres, not the people who need their money.
