Blindess was truly awful lmao. I also hadn’t read the book (didn’t even know there was one!) and very nearly walked out of the theater. Later on I googled it, to see if I was alone, and I learned the rape scene was original much longer, but so many people walked out of a test showing that they cut it down.

In real life, a rape is a serious issue that some victims never recover from, and many women are shamed for it.
