ALL HAIL THE GLOW CLOUD
In my opinion Civil War the movie is much better than Civil War the comic arc. It benefits from having a more streamlined approach and overall more believable and grounded motivations and actions for all characters.
I never thought there’d be a day when I looked back fondly on Charlton Heston’s overacting, but today I do.
So, should we start building Jaegers, or?
Seconded!
YES THIS. Cate and Tom teaming up to conquer Asgard and the Nine Realms with the combined power of their perfect cheekbones.
That seems to be the consensus and it’s definitely a great point - especially the contrast with Rey just being serene and one with the Force. From this perspective, it really makes the case for Kylo being powerful but also completely out of control, while Rey has zero formal training but she’s naturally attuned with…
This may have been asked already but: anyone else intrigued by the way Kylo Ren keeps punching his own side when he’s fighting first Finn and then Rey? He gets a blaster shot to that side, we clearly see what seems to be blood in the snow, but why does he do it? I mean he’s probably in pain already so he’s causing…
He was excellent. That scene on the walkway was so full of emotion and conflict. It was definitely on par with the Luke-Vader-Palpatine showdown on ROTJ.
This movie is an absolute delight. Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are revelations, and Adam Driver packs more dramatic intensity in a single scene than Hayden Christensen in two whole movies.
I’d be counting the minutes until Luther punched Sherlock in the face.
So you’re saying Aleister Crowley did succeed on bringing forth the Antichrist?
Revenge of the Sith has some great moments, but it shows (or, doesn’t show) what I personally believe is the prequel trilogy’s greatest flaw: instead of giving us a whole movie about the Clone Wars, it pretty much sidesteps the conflict in favor of political intrigue.
“The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.“
“He’s my friend.”
The narrative consistency regarding the Jedi’s attitude towards “recruits” and whether or not they get to maintain ties with their families is a total mess. On the one hand, several sources state they are supposed to be taken to the Temple as babies and grow up free of emotional attachment. On the other hand, Count…
None of it seems to make sense, but with that cast and those visuals, I’d watch it. I’m still pissed at SWatH for ripping off Princess Mononoke, though.
Night at the Museum and NATM 2 are the only recent Hollywood movies I can remember where an Egyptian person actually plays an ancient Egyptian - Rami Malek as Ahkmenrah.
I very much agree with everything you said. Watching the prequel trilogy I often wanted to scream at the Jedi for being so incredibly blind, self-centered and ineffective. Even the best of them have been stunted by the Jedi’s narrow world views which skew dangerously close to fundamentalism.
