The harm is he is using not just his own stupidity/immaturity for jokes, he is dragging her stupidity/immaturity into the joke.

They are both clearly immature as f***. But certainly by now someone in his life has counseled him not to use his pulpit for jokes (are these attempts to overcome embarassment? attempts to be seen as the victim????) ....so he must be doing this inspite of any good judgement available to him. That’s some obstinance…
