Congrats! Sometimes hanging out with a friend or two (or three, or four, and so on) is just what is needed to feel like life is good again. :)

Yes, that is the first thing that popped into my head. Contacting CPS is so much more effective in this scenario because you just don’t know how the mother will react if she believed that the child had some sort of medical condition that caused the bruises and such...

I walked into a Ross and a TJ Maxx today and ended up buying K-Beauty stuff I knew I shouldn’t have, but I’m still giddy about actually getting paid for the hard work I’m doing, and I wanted to treat myself more this weekend.

::internet hugs::

I’m starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist maybe, but I am wondering if there is some IT guy in charge of the Kinja boards who does this shit...

You don’t get a meal on any other airline if you fly to/from the mainland to Hawaii.

Um, I would totally be up for a trip like this.

I love how he specified that it’s from her UNITY phase.

And Mort’s boyfriend. It is his house, after all. “We’re just having fun.” My fave part of that episode is when they’re all scared in the bathroom, and Gene suddenly whispers, “Dad, I just want to say, I’ve had a really good childhood.” Gene gets me every time...

I love that no matter how raunchy or weird, the family is so so supportive of each other. Even the kids are protective of each other.

In the words of Felix, “Yamo be there!!!”

Wouldn’t it be something akin to “testiculous” in men? Like, “Whoa, get your emotions in check. You’re being totally testiculous right now.”

Med schools are like any other college/university nowadays. If you have the money and time, anyone can get a damn medical degree...

I just have two words for you: Boiled Weasel.

Don’t be disappointed. You’re doing what you know is best for you. I hope no one is making you feel bad about it! My motto of the last 6 months has been “You can’t go back, so keep charging forward”. Don’t think “What if I had given it a chance?” Only you know what you are capable of and how much you can handle. So

No shame in turning down a job! At least it’s good practice, and you know what you want. :) Here’s hoping the next company that offers you a job fits you much better.

Endoscopies aren’t bad in the least. I was fully awake and refused to be sedated in any way. They numbed my throat so I wouldn’t feel the tube and my body wouldn’t voluntarily try to make me gag and evacuate the tube. There was a slight pinch when they took a biopsy from the stomach lining.

They see tons of literal assholes every day of their lives. What makes you think yours is so special?

I got an endoscopy and the doctor was REALLY pushing me to be totally sedated during it. He said the ONLY other option was a throat-numbing spray. I didn’t have anyone to pick me up and was too broke for a taxi (this was pre-Uber and Lyft), so I told him I’ll deal with it.

Yeah, people have told me the political intrigue crap is boring, which is basically all of Paris. Heh. Oh well, at least I can fast forward on the DVR.
