YES. Exactly this. I am a fairly aware person but for some reason, this just didn't bother me at all. I was extremely caught off guard when a few people were griping about it later. I totally side with people who are bothered by it but I feel like there isn't really an established etiquette yet.

this hits home. I was attacked a few years back. The looks and judgement people gave put me in therapy. I could have lived with the injuries and managed the fear of dogs but it was the way people treated me that messed me up.
