2.4L that only makes 143 hp... in 2014? Is this motor tuned to run off of Tsingtao beer?
The car is still visibly understeering, especially the two corners starting around the 50 second mark. However I do agree that it is possible to dial a lot of the understeer out of the quattro cars with some suspension tuning.
Well, that's not exactly right. She pleaded that her company was so compartmentalized, so opaque, so bureaucratic, so institutionally confused that important information about an engineered part that was turning cars and airbags off before crashes did not make it to the engineering boss.

From what I've seen the energy recovery system sits between the turbine and compressor, so there is always going to be separation between the two. Mercedes might have theirs the farthest away, but that would only be for the purpose of…
JFF II here I come!
The fix is quite simple. There is ample room to include a resonator of some sort (not a muffler) into the exhaust which can be used to help change the pitch and tone of the sound....

''The sound of the engine is the sum of three principal components, exhaust, intake and mechanical noise. On fired engines, exhaust noise dominates, but the other two sources are not trivial and would be loud if the exhaust noise was suppressed…
Agreed. That's why I said "generally speaking" and "less likely".
Generally speaking, the more theatrical the crash the less likely it is that there will be serious injuries, as the kinetic energy is being dissipated over a longer duration. Coming to a halt abruptly is what hurts the most.
And along the same lines...
