I fully understand this. I  don't want most technology in my car, and I certainly don't want touchscreen everything.  The only tech I use is Bluetooth phone connection and a backup camera.

I suspect Boeing and NASA didn’t want a PR disaster, either. I agree — right decision because a tragedy isn’t good for any of the players, period.

5. An Actual Duck =)

I felt the same. This isn’t really “cheap recession-era trash”, this is more just how car interiors generally looked during that era. You could do the same slideshow with the goofy 80s boxy gauge clusters/dashes and how those looked strange out of context. I had an RSX-S for quite a while that I loved the interior on,

Loud exhausts are disruptive and annoying, but as you mentioned this is the type of regulation that often leaves all of the interpretation up to the officer. Reminds me of a few years back when NY made checking for window tint part of the annual inspection. The number of people pissed about having to remove their tint

I just wish there was a different term for this then raw dog. I really don’t want my 13 year old running around the house saying he raw dogged his bicycle trip with his friend.

EVification of three-row crossovers and pickups is just the most monumentally stupid use for battery tech. Take an already giant heavy vehicle and make it doubly so by adding enough batteries to get it 300 miles. It’s just bonkers and I’m frankly happy to see them cutting back on this. Six figure SUVs are similarly

Honda Pilot: ...decently put together, but drab, boring and full of buttons.

Slammed cars. Not just low - tire wrapped 1" off the ground slammed. You want to bring it on a trailer (if you can get it on there) to some car show and drive around real slow, go for it. But if you have to drive 13 mph through my entire city so you don’t bottom out on anthills you need to make some adjustments to

The new Buick Envision is a really nice looking car. I didn’t think the updated headlights would work but they do in person.

You nailed a portion, a job’s skill gap. Gen Z isn’t being trained in most vocational skill positions and some high schools are placing such a large emphasis on college that they are ignoring other good paying jobs. Simple 5-6 week programs run through the local CC and outplacement in apprenticeships go a long way.

Structural unemployment has always been a thing. An economy considered to be healthy has roughly a 4.5% unemployment rate. The numbers people argued about this week are 18 months old in part and well known to the Fed given they are just State data that was used to smooth out the Household Survey from the BLS. (Trump

Double helical is way harder and more expensive but resolves loading issues singles have. Ie thrust issues.

Vibes. If I (6', 260 lbs) fits, I’d sits happily, even on the roof)

The “Spur Gear” top right. The rest are “Herringbone.” Very expensive and not used in automotive transmissions.

Yes you got it closer than Owen. The correct name is “Spur Gears.” In fact most modern heavy trucks in the US still use spur gears, at least in the main transmission. However today they are almost completely silent because of the way they are cut. Modern truck transmissions use a spur gear design called Multi-Mesh.

That golf cart gives mad Supra Mk4 F&F vibes.Anyone agree with me?

This is one of the reasons I like my union job. Guaranteed 5% raises until you top out in that position. The union negotiates a new contract with the state every 4 years, so the top out pay is always going up. 10 years with the state and I’ve never hit the salary cap.

The dealers and makers have found the pain point for consumers. Any drop in the interest rates will see an increase in prices, just the same as has been in play in the housing market. They look at what the monthly payment that will be tolerated is and will maintain that payment as their goal.

It’s slammed. And somehow I still like it.
