I was also thinking EV. I’ve seen used Bolts and even Bolt EUVs in the sub $20k range. If they qualify, there is a 20% up to $4k tax thing for buying a sub $25k EV used. That drops the price of a $19k used EV to $15k.

I’m not a Boomer. I’m heart of Gen X. I just pushed too much
A couple things:
Also from experience from my mom as she aged, the lack of power goes from being a detriment to an advantage as a person’s reaction speeds slow down.
It doesn’t work for longer range transportation.
I mean if you ask me to recommend a vehicle to someone not really well versed in cars and upkept there of, the list would start with a Camry. But even with that, I learned there are good year and bad year Camrys. I also learned that one of the things that makes Toyota so good is that they admit mistakes and will fix…
The first guy was a professor of thermodynamics. I haven’t considered any of his students for hiring, but I would ask questions if I ever did. He went as far to ask what my grades were in Thermo 1. Which admittedly, weren’t impressive. (C). I later figured out the problem. This part was in a fire system. The FIRE was…
Admittedly, still cheaper than what the hospital charged for my Endoscopy.
There’s also a level of smart where you live with your head in the clouds. I’m an engineer and I run into that all the time. I find that when I go to make something, the first thing I do is talk to the people that actually have to make this crap to have them tell me how dumb I am.
Thing is that by the time you put in the AWD system and the like, it basically would be an Envision, or Endoscopy or whatever, not just in price but in weight.
Shoot, just the 2.0T that is something like 230 hp would be interesting. The 2.5T with about 340 would be really interesting.
I don’t know. Examples from my life.
I don’t think so. I think it was close enough to the ocean floor to cause the shock wave to echo off of the floor.
It depends on the forum and the shop. Everything has to be taken with a grain of salt of course. Including CR.
Add TVA to the equation (with dams providing power for Oak Ridge) and Hoover sending power off to the LA Basin for the aircraft production there and you might be right.
Forget CR. Go to the forums for a specific model you are interested in. Go to a specialist shop for the brand you are thinking of and talk to the mechanic there. Take the car to them for an inspection.
I’ve dealt with enough people that think that money and brilliance can overcome physics. And it never ends well.
It’s even worse than that. Typically tariffs are put in place to protect domestic capability. After a couple years of having protection, domestic companies will have more capacity so the price will go down. This will allow the domestic companies to compete on the global market.
