I remember once calling a customer who was expecting a giant protest, which didn’t happen. They used radiators in the river for cooling. The coal plant nearby that used hyperbolic cooling towers had a really hard day from protesters chaining themselves to the cooling towers.

Yep, first hit on google image search.

I once visited friends in Germany that were anti-nuclear (as I said German). The talked about how the plants down wind of the nuclear plant were always green and grew faster than the ones up wind would be dying and brown. That was their proof that there was something in nuclear power that changed the environment.

Yeap. I got offered a job to work overseas. It was a 2 year contract. They would hold on to my passport for those 2 years for safe-keeping.

I work in nuclear power. It’s amazing how badly people freak out about water vapor.

To me, any cruise or tour sucks. I like to go at my own pace.

Car?

1. I think my wife would go for a Pacifica PHEV... if it wasn’t a Chrysler product. If Toyota made a Sienna Prime she would be on it like stink on puppy poop. But the combination of Sienna and Prime would lead dealers to charge a quarter million for one.

Yeah, I grew up in a house built in the early 50s. We always struggled with power. I think we had 40 or 60 amps for a 3200 sq ft home with a carport. We used window AC units and had to make sure we didn’t try to keep more than one room cool at a time or the main fuse would blow. Just before my parents sold it, they

Not sure, but I know Musk took credit for it and did line up the money to make it into significant production.

300 series stainless isn’t the lowest grade. It’s just class the name for Austenitic stainless. The actual grade is what matters. 302, 304,306, 308, 316, etc.

$25k or less is the key. Unless you make a lot of money or have used the credit before, if you can get under $25k, you can get 30% off/up to $4k max from a used 2+ year old EV. If you need a car, a used Model 3 is a worthy option now, it’s actually cheaper than an equivalent year/miles Camry after incentives.

I don’t know if that is a real limit. Say you get a used Bolt. In theory 250 ish miles of range. Call it 200 for 100%-10%.

Cool idea. Can we name one after Billy D Williams?

I feel like with the title and the gif, I’m going to end up with a visit from someone from IT.

I wouldn’t .  Let the billionaires fund it themselves.  This acts as a filter to make sure that the dumbest and dimmest are on that ship.

Exactly. Its because there isn’t a big used market for used EVs right now.

I’m not sure I believe them, but I read somewhere that giant power EVs are actually more efficient.

Like everything, YMMV.
