Creative Mode was added a while back, it lets you play the game without the economy, resources, or death getting in the way. You can literally just build and acquire whatever you want whenever you want.

I believe they added what you are looking for a release or two ago

Not what I said. Stop looking for reasons to be a victim.

There are only about 4-5 hours of official “cutscenes” in the first game. The rest of the story plays out in gameplay, notes, etc., and much of it is easily cut and/or condensed.

But that doesn’t really matter anyway. There’s no rule that says they have to adhere to the same plot.

It’s simply really good story telling and world building. You can take that feeling from such an in-depth look into a single couple and extrapolate that out to a lot of other characters we meet only briefly. It allows

Hot Take: It was ALWAYS okay to release this game.

Office Space nailed so much of this perfectly for the modern cubical/office worker era.  If you are a high performer and more productive you get a mediocre raise and the expectation that you keep performing at that high level.  We dont reward hard workers typically, we give them more work until they burn out.  Then

That was my thought. I oversee 5 people and they are all legitimately great. Depending on the project or year I could probably point to someone doing an outstanding job on a given project, but it doesn’t mean that the rest of the team has done poorly. This whole system sucks.

It’s simple. The people who create systems like this are looking for a way to justify their job. They know that they’re useless and will be shitcanned if they don’t keep coming up with new reasons to have meetings and implement systems and change policies.

At a previous employer, our “Executive Management” decided that the support staff should write all of the knowledge base articles as part of their case troubleshooting, thus eliminating the need for technical writing staff.

Yeah, that’s really stupid. What if a student is just more comfortable sitting their quietly and learning?

Once again, the owning class (the high level execs, company presidents, and anyone else who primarily makes money just because of what they own) is so far removed from us everyday workers that we have practically nothing in common with them. They’d sacrifice us all for a fraction more of a penny, because we’re just

Counter: what if you’re leading a team of five people and everyone is amazing. This policy forces you to pick one of them as the “worst”, and suddenly that person’s financial and employment situation takes a direct hit.

This is sociopathy and sociopaths. The structure of the modern world and its ‘economy’ both rewards and incentivizes them and their behavior, which should come as no surprise, given that sociopaths are the ones controlling society and writing its laws. Built by and for sociopaths. What we’re seeing is the perfectly

I want to meet the people who come up with systems like this. Seriously.

but are the actual shitty workers getting called out? or they don’t get picked because they’re friends with so and so all buddybuddy

‘If everybody is hitting the work quota, nobody is hitting the work quota.’

BD-1 is the best Star Wars droid.  I will die on this hill.

We’re not just talking working a little bit of extra time here is the issue. If and when something unexpected comes up and you’re asked to work overtime for a few days, it’s not the end of the world.
