To be fair, they were technically “over temperature,” for a brief period, while on fire

They advertised “over-temperature” and numerous overloading protections, yet those protection features failed somehow. How difficult can it be to admit, Gigabyte!
When a well respected YouTube channel buys 10 of your power supplies and 5 of them blow up under **standardized testing** the fault lies with YOU and not the “media” ..... NewEgg has a lot of apologizing to do also from cramming these DEFECTIVE power supplies down people’s throats just so they could get a damned…
I guess the components shortage has forced some manufacturers to source components from suppliers with unproven component quality. It's not to say Gigabyte deserves a free pass on this mes but they should have tested more before pushing product out the door with such a high rate of failure.
I’ve done that for years actually. I learned the hard way recently that you shouldn’t cheap on the psu. And weirdly I fried 1 gpu in 15 years while using mostly no name or shit like heden.
Same here. I remember a talk about motherboards failing and somebody said that’s rare. I quipped “You must not have ever had a Gigabyte mobo...” and people thought it was a joke. T’was no joke at all!
Gigabyte also seemed to ignore the reviews on Newegg and Amazon. I guess those poor customers had the temerity to actually use the PSU instead of just worshiping it as a piece of Gigabyte’s ass.
Trump gave capitalist assholes permission to stop hiding it anymore.
I’ve been shitting on Gigabyte for 6 years and I always got told I was overreacting or whatever, but it sure feels nice to see them continuing to be shit just like I told people.
This is honestly an unbelievably amateurish response by this company, do they not have a PR department? They are basically napalming any chance of enthusiasts (and any joe schmo with googling ability) trusting their brand for anything in the future.
“…GP-P850GM and GP-P750GM tripping at high wattages when tested via DC Electronic Load equipment for extended lengths of time repeatedly close to the 120% to 150% OPP trigger point.”
They handily cherry picked the methodology but skipped the part of the GN’s video where they had a PSU blow at just 60% load. Steve also tried to root cause diagnose the PSU’s not just saying that they blew. In that part he discovered significant variations in components even on same model units. That is very damning…
The fact that they’re changing the design of the PSU and offering returns speaks rather clearly as to whether they truly believe the statement they put out…
BULLSEYE
Good for you! I’m a certifiable workaholic in my forties now and have just recently (in the last year) started to pursue a healthy work/life balance. I’ve spent the last 20-25 years working (on average) 60-90 hours a week. I’m lucky enough to have enough sway and trust at my job to pretty much come and go whenever I…
What does she do that earns that little with such a degree?
50k in SoCal is barely enough to live on your own.
This is what happens when we continually attack Unions and strip the workforce of its protections that had been so prevalent decades ago. Without collective bargaining a company is going to exploit the worker as much as they can and let you burn out.
You have to factor for cost of living at the specific place. $50k means one thing in San Fransisco and another thing in Mobile, Alabama.
I can tell you no one at the Texas QA office makes anywhere near 50k even at 60 hour weeks. More like ~35k with no benefits and no paid leave of any sort.
