If you look online for the actual press conference transcript, you’ll find it’s not nearly as dire as Marcus Hayes (easily the worst Philly-area writer) has made it seem. The Hayes article never quoted Lurie’s remarks directly, and then the reaction was solely based on that article.

But if everyone is armed at every football party, there would be many more incidents of accidental/drunken shootings. There is no question the party goers at thus party would have been safer if armed, but there is a question whether your average party goer would be safer or actually in more danger.
