Thank you! People always talk about how Kirk was a womanizing asshole, but that really isn’t very accurate. It’s one of those cases where Kirk’s reputation very much proceeds him.
It’s not that Kirk didn’t *like* women. But he didn’t go around seducing them for shits and giggles. He was often shown to have genuine…
Are you being sarcastic?
Sarcasm aside, the scene was clearly not a 1/1 remake of the scene from the Orville, so calling it ‘unaltered’ is patently false.
Also, remember that time two officers from the Orville fed part of a third officer to a fourth officer? Pretty sure that’s a far worse display of manners than accidentally sneezing on…
No one sneezed in the scene you’re referring to in the Orville. So yes, they clearly altered it.
“The series has jumped ahead! It’s no longer following the books.”
I mostly agree with you and dirtside. The Last Jedi was neither great nor terrible. It did some things quite well and really botched the execution on other beats.
I’m going to have to go out and buy this now.
I just looked it up. Fair Haven was Robert Burnheim. Spirit Folk was, as you suspected, Bryan Fuller.
As far as Discovery goes, I haven’t written it off yet. I actually enjoyed the first season, though it’s certainly not without flaws. I certainly think there’s a lot of room for improvement.
And Doug Jones is amazing.
I want High Rock myself. That’s where the Orsimer come from.
Fair Haven was bad, but it was 10X better than Spirit Folk. God, what droll trite.
Seriously. Who the fuck watched “Fair Haven” and thought, “Let’s write a god damned sequel!”???
I tried getting into Leather Goddesses of Phobos, but the game is just so bad...lol
In my opinion, QFG4 really perfected the “sandbox” style of the RPG/adventure hybrid (except for combat, which I think was better in QFG1). What I liked about 4 is that there’s actually quite a few things to do that diverge from the main quest. Also, it was the first computer game Jennifer Hale ever acted in!
I’ve…
If Nicholas Meyer pilots a Khan miniseries, it might actually be good. I trust Meyer.
I’d still prefer something more forward-thinking, however. I’m tired of dwelling in Star Trek’s past.
I think Robert Lansing was a big problem for me. He had no charisma, which made him stick out like a sore thumb.
And maybe Shatner and Minoy had fun, but that doesn’t mean the episode is any good. If you watch “Spock’s Brain” (which isn’t the worst episode of TOS), DeForrest Kelly looks like he’s having a blast playing…
Ah, yes, I remember now. “Her life could have been as rich as any woman’s. If only.” You’re right, that is an unfortunate bit of final dialogue for TOS.
Well, I certainly won’t argue that there is a strong sexist undercurrent to “Turnabout Intruder” (and much of TOS, if we’re being honest). However, I disagree that the…
That would likely be preferable to a miniseries depicting Khan’s rise to power in near-future Earth.
My question, as always, is why?
I’ve heard the prequel miniseries might also be about Khan. No idea how that would even work, but you know.
It is rather amazing, isn’t it? Like, we didn’t ask for Enterprise, we didn’t ask for the 2009 reboot (complete with ill-advised, comic-book style origin story), and we didn’t ask for a third pre-Kirk reboot.
Don’t get me wrong, I rather enjoyed Discovery. But I would have enjoyed it more if it was set in 2415 and…
There are quite a few high-concept episodes of HIMYM that really fall flat, aren’t there?
