Respect their art! When you have no idea what they just painted, saying “What is that?” shuts them down. Instead, try “Can you tell me more about this?”
And I’ve got 15 years on you, but I still office chair surf down the hallway of my school when no students are around (turns around, three classes are walking down the hall staring at me, with teachers tut-tutting me). Also: Cartwheels, whenever and wherever they’re unexpected.
