Lol, not a factor for me. If anything I get much more done at the plant in casual clothes than wearing uncomfortable business casual in the office just due to the increase in pace.
PPE depends on what area you’re working in. Body shop? Absolutely, kevlar sleeves, the whole shebang as you described. General assembly or end of line? Mostly anti mutilation protection (belt/ring covers so you don’t scratch anything), bump caps/safety goggles in any overhead stations, and obviously no open toed shoes…
Because it’s hot as hell on a shop floor and unlike cubicle life, comfort and getting shit done takes priority over looks.
I did the same thing, with the added bonus that if I was pleased with the sales experience I would drive around with their dealer plate frame and highly recommend them. Worked out well for everyone.

Respectfully, in the primaries we do get to choose between Sanders and Clinton. I also share your SCOTUS concerns, and as it turns out, Bernie actually polls better against many GOP candidates than Hillary.
