Not a good idea. That intake is there for a reason. You could easily be pulling exhaust (possibly CO) from your furnace or hot water tank back into the house.

From experience I can tell you that’s a no go and resulted in two calls to the local police. Some people are just miserable and just need to be eliminated from all forms of communication.
I think the proper way to look at it is all of your neighbors are potential a-holes. Some of them will become your friends, some will become like family and then the rest are on the fence.
