Yeah i know the lore, one of my friends is huge into the lore and what each card means, etc. I just play because its fun and makes you think, the artwork is just something cool to look at.

Well yeah i do the same. But he is saying that he would not play the game solely because there isnt SC characters on the cards. When the figure on the card and its artwork adds nothing to the game.

I mean i can understand loving the SC lore and universe,but MTG isnt even about what the card looks like or its character. its about what abilities the card has. yeah the artwork is neat to look at while you are thumbing through your hand,but thats about it.

I kinda miss this art style of games from the 90's. the whole live action cutouts. Thats something we will never get again because everyone wants hyper realism 3d. Same with movies and replacing practical effects with CGI.
