I’d recommend taking advantage of the accelerometers that almost all devices have now and if this app is open while moving above a certain speed, maybe five miles an hour perhaps, then it would disable the “catching” function. I did this on a dirt road going 50 mph once in a ‘99 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Did a rather nice J-turn but almost flipped the thing. Would I ever do the same thing on tarmac? No, I probably wouldn’t be alive right now if I did. The people in the Jetta are awful lucky, it could’ve been much worse.
