This is the correct interpretation, I believe. And ultimately, it’s not that important WHO sent them, but if the intended goal was to sow dissention among the ranks of the Roy children, and send them scattering in the wind, then mission accomplished.

Variations on that scene have probably played out COUNTLESS times in real life with who knows how many philandering wealthy husbands desperate to keep their marriage (and public image) intact.

Agree on your interpretation of Connor: his character reminds me of Little Carmine: always assumed to be an idiot, but smart enough to stay away from the dangers of going for the “big seat” to enjoy his life away from “the life.”

I think that Greg at some level inherently trusts his grandfather more than the other Roys, at least at this point, so he’s willing to go with Ewan’s plan, for now.

Part of this “putting his affairs in order” is clearly to make a last attempt to sabotage his brother’s empire: and he sees Greg as the potential mole that he can use to get in and take it down with help from his revolutionary lawyer. It surprises me that Ewan hasn’t reached out to Kendall after his public admonishing…

I’ve got to say, I think this episode felt like more of the same from last week. Too much back and forth machinations and plotting, side-stepping and scheming and not enough plot development. I’m sure later episodes will get further into the meat of the story, but this one felt like more wheel-spinning to me.

I chalk up this change in motivation to maybe like when Ultron merges with his Vision-body that he realizes that he is the pinnacle of evolution and so all other life is inferior, ergo only he and his hive mind deserve to exist.

Yeah I think at this point in the comics if Ultra was battling a Watcher and eating galaxies at a multiverse level that the Living Tribunal would have to intervene.

The very beginning of “Loki” almost shows this - Loki takes a stone into another timeline and the TVA shows up and stops him. Presumably the stone would have worked for the brief period he was in the desert before being apprehended by the TVA.

Yeah at least if it’s not a great story, I’ll enjoy the novelty of characters casually referring to Sopranos luminaries: e.g. “Oh! Feech! I’ll see you at the game tonight!” or “Ralphie, stop trying to light that dog’s tail on fire!”

They really should have brought in Terence Winter instead to direct. Boardwalk Empire wasn’t as transcendent as Sopranos, but here’s a guy who understands how to write and shoot compelling mob stuff from different eras.

El Camino reminded me of the computer game expansion packs you could buy back in the day for games like Half-Life: more of the same good stuff you liked from the original product, but too far removed from touching the heart of the source material to really be compelling beyond the telling, to coin a phrase.

So here’s a question: I’m not sure if it has been asked yet. How come when the Ancient One split the two Stranges in half, the Time Variance Authority didn’t show up and arrest the Bad Strange? Seems like that would be an exhibit A for a time deviation in this reality. Seems like the TVA would be around at this point…
