People have been scarred by Game of Thrones’ rug pull deaths.
People have been scarred by Game of Thrones’ rug pull deaths.
This touches on something that I’ve come to believe after finishing the first season of “Invincible” on Amazon Prime, and that’s that sometimes a comic book-based TV series can be better suited (no superhero pun intended) as an animated endeavor. I can’t imagine what the budget would have to be on a live-action…
Reminded me of Mr. Burns’ Bobo or the “A.I.” boy’s eternal reemergence.
The societal logistics of the decoys boggled my mind: where did all the decoys live? Did all the separate Ricks have the wherewithal and finances to establish the family within neighboring...neighborhoods/cities? Morties and Summers just showing up at various high schools, etc.?
Isn’t this movie basically “The Whole Ten Yards”?
This song deftly threads the needle of expressing Bo’s genuine regrets from his past, and his fear of eventual public retribution, while also parodying the overwrought, prostrate pleas for public forgiveness from celebrities when their past insensitive statements or jokes are brought to light. Not an easy thing to do,…
I think your take is much closer to what Burnham was going for with this song than this article’s breakdown. He’s isolated in his room during quarantine and is face to face with his depression, some of which seemingly comes from strong feelings of regret from things he’s done in the past: and he has a desire to…
Bingo: that part of the song really stuck me in the same way. I also think it was a smart way for Burnham to undercut his own snarky song by displaying genuine pathos and empathy smack in the middle of a parody. That’s a difficult line to walk, and he does it very deftly here.
The only problem with that is by not denouncing the group, it leaves it open to interpretation from conspiracy theorists and the like to go on assuming she’s still the Queen of Love and Beauty. Although I suppose those people wouldn’t be satisfied no matter what she said or didn’t say, so I suppose it’s lose-lose for…
The expression always read more as a grotesque hyperbole: like the person is so fixated on getting satisfaction that a pound of flesh would be acceptable recompense.
Clearly put in there as a “yo, let’s f*** with the audience via random Easter eggs like robot/alien zombies: because we know YouTube nerds will over-analyze this thing and they will help with promotion and hype for a sequel!”
Nobody cared about Inhumans, and this looks to touch on much of the same territory, so you might be right. Only GotG has thus far managed to successfully turn a whole cohort of relatively obscure characters into major players, using impeccable casting, writing and pacing. Eternals looks to be a tad too melodramatic…
Bautista could’ve made it work and been in both. Remember Blade Runner 2049? Small role, but very impactful and memorable.
My Dad cracked up at that one for sure.
Saw a recent interview with Middleditch where he came across as really smug and haughty. Something about how anybody out in L.A. trying to make it in as a comedic actor/stand-up should probably quit because they suck way worse than they think. Just smacked of entitled douchiness. Because of his improv chops I’m sure…
D’Elia was funny on the Ten Minute Podcast (R.I.P.) with Bryan Callen, another toxic comic who’s been rightly outed as rapey. But it was poor, wholesome Will Sasso, longtime buddies with these two, who managed to wrangle out some hilarious podcast episodes. Will being the lynchpin for the hilarity notwithstanding,…
Big fan of Zonoscope, but haven’t really checked in with them in awhile. Will have to listen.
Technology like this is a fantastic aid for folks who have limited or no mobility like ALS patients. File this under good news!
Not being able to play Bloodborne or God of War are my two regrets for only owning an Xbox One.
Allen had Larry David at the peak of his “Curb” appeal, and delivered a navel-gazing, milquetoast attempt at a character study. Oh well.
