Yes. When the audio of the opening scene plays over him driving later, the delivery of the dialogue is different, faster. Delivered in a faster, almost rushed manner. And some of the words themselves are different! Leon says “I’ll tell you about my mother” in the opening scene, and “Let me tell you about my mother”.

#5 though, I love that it’s not the same audio track that we hear in the opening scene. But why? I remembered it as him as hearing it on a cassette tape also, for a couple of years after I saw it. And saw it and saw it and saw it and saw it. One of those viewings was of the theatrical version on VHS (I know, European

Not more than once. I think every true Blade Runner fan sees it once. Don’t they? Just to see.

I actually can’t remember if I’ve seen the remake, but apparently I also would never let that get in the way of a mediocre joke.

“You tasteless MONSTER!!!”

Do you hear the people sing? It is the song of angry men! It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again!

Yes, the author covered that in the paranthetical remark at the end. (Look...was he WILD about it, no. BUT that the important thing was that they DID get together maskless and in close contact, because and ISN’T that the REAL - uh - uuuhhhh...)

Kee-rist almighty...I just didn’t have the energy. But in my head, when I saw that I did sigh “Kee-rist almighty”...

Lol that Dolly impression is Dolly impressive!

This is probably going to sound really dumb, but you might spend some time projecting yourself forward, and see if you regret remaining friends with her, looking back. Or think about what it would take for you to later regret having remained friends, and watch out for that thing happening.

So pedestrian...it didn’t even have the sense to linger on the images which deserved it. And Roddy McDowell’s voice, jabbering away like a third-rate C-3PO...

Rewatching now, because my curiosity has been piqued. And it’s just bad. Terrible, prosaic, mundane dialogue! Woodenly delivered! By disengaged actors!

Kinda, yup, it does. The acting and costumes, in particular, I just remember being...bad.

“Disney’s first-ever PG rating” - thank you, Hollywood Squares! This was a question on the show when the movie was coming out - though I still think it was a kind of a cheat that the question was phrased and timed the way it was, since the movie hadn’t been released yet at the time.

I didn’t realize a new season was airing - I also thought it was a big improvement over the Roseanne revival. I’ll have to see if I can stream it.

I really really like Candice Bergen. Not because she’s a comic genius or anything - she’s not. “Wooden” is the adjective which has been applied to her throughout her acting career, and I don’t think it’s inapt (yes, “Murphy Brown” illustrated this perfectly). But, I just like her - she was one of the world’s great

Write the toxic ex the letter. You might not decide to send it, but write it.

Yeah, you have to be taught, before it’s too late.

I was born in 1966 and for a long time, the outsize lisping, mincing queer was the ONLY depiction of a queer male you saw, ever. And it was everywhere. As a gay boy, it really really really hurt. Not because of the characteristics themselves so much (because, I always wondered, what was so automatically wrong and

I don’t think we “lost” a good character, not when we “had” him for thirty years.
