When I spend $50 a year on a service, I expect it to be ad-free. Pandora, Satellite Radio (music channels), Hulu, Netflix, hell even Amazon are good examples.

No but I would if it was advertising Deadmau5 and other shit like that. Gaming related ads are fine. It's when I see fucking Geico ads on my dashboard that it pisses me off. Hell I can even excuse Steam as it's a completely free service.
