Am I the only one using HTTPS? The original script ignores that. You guys DO know you can go to [www.google.com] and see the reader in paranoid don't spy on me mode right?

I'm trying out tracks at the moment. Running it locally and using it to manage my todo list. Only been trying it for a few weeks but seems good so far!

There is a similar website for open source projects at Say OSS. If you know how to say a name you can submit it.

You can also combine various things, so if you know that the average cost of petrol (gasoline) in the UK is about one pound per litre you can get Google to convert that to US gallons and dollars all in one with this search.

I think I need to get out more. I was trying to work out how you can 'hack' a marathon (using some Wargames type backdoor, no doubt).

Personally I haven't got IMAP access on my accounts, but I don't care because I'm running my own IMAP server to amalgamate all my email accounts.

Garlic pills. Take a while to work (start taking them a week or two before you need them).

Looks nice but I can't hit backspace to go up one level. I use that all the time.

A friend of my mother suggested she take garlic pills. Her and I both suffer from being eaten alive by mosquitos. She found it really reduced getting bitten. I tried it myself when travelling around Australia. It takes a little while to kick in - start them a few weeks before you need the protection but on the few

Personally I just use the DOS command REN. Remember * is multiple characters and ? is a single character.

@ people talking about screensavers...

Try pstools. If your work is anything like my last workplace we had user access on all people's machines - you could log into any machine. With the pstools you can start programs up on other machines, close programs and other things.

@jambarama: OK I'm not booted into windows so can't check this, However if you open up explorer (that is just the normal explorer and not internet explorer) you can change the settings for opening files. If memory serves there is a 'file folder' option. You may be able to set that to xplorer2 and get that as

Oh, don't forget alt+left / right for backwards and forwards, alt+home for home. It tells you of those under the History menu item :P

If we're talking about odd shortcuts, I'm sure most people know about alt+tab switching between application windows, but you may not know about ctrl+tab which (similar to alt+tab) switches between the windows of the current application. So you can switch to the next tab in firefox that way, and in most (if not all)

@rasti: In theory, if you have had sensitive information stored on a hard drive for a long time then overwrite them, it is possible to see what was there originally.

cmd /k is the man! I used it every single day at work. Just create an icon on the desktop pointing to cmd /k [some filename].bat to run your personal preferences. Yeah you can tweak your computer to do most of it but it's nice having a batch file you simply edit and change when you like - plus you can let others

A bartender I know always gives out bitters and lime. Tastes awful but works. Put several drops of bitters on a slice of lime and suck on it. Then eat the lime to get rid of the taste of bitters!

I second NoScript. It speeds up your browsing by stopping the big scripts loading up, can improve your anonymity and security.
