Just looking at the numbers, it seems like Cap has more than Iron Man, which could lead someone to believe that, based on this purported lineup, that the turncoat would actually be among Cap's crew. That would actually have more dramatic punch too, cause seeing Cap betrayed would sting more than seeing Iron Man

This will probably be a rushed introduction of the MCU/Sony Spidey to begin with, I don’t think having him vacilitate on his motives would be the best idea. Better to go with a character we’ve seen. It’s clearly not going to be one of the main two. I think the wild card is War Machine. He seems like he should be 100%

And he’ll say: “I bet you did’t see that coming!” and everyone will groan.

I agree, I can’t see Widow, who definitely has a connection with Cap.

It just seems a little too easy of a pick now, the more I think about it.

I kinda hope it’s not, just because it’s the obvious choice.

It’s a twist. We think the double agent is Black Widow but it’s really Vision.

I was surprised to see her on Stark’s side yeah. Then again, maybe they deliver a good reason for this. Her being the spy would not be surprising enough.

“I’ve... made a mistake”

Black Widow on Iron Man’s side... hmmm. I wonder who the double agent will be.
That said, as the person who’s entire secret carrier was laid out for all to see at the end of The Winter Soldier, she does have a solid argument for openness and accountability. Just seems contrary to her steadfast support of Cap.

at least one Avenger on one of the teams is a double-agent for the other side

Something feels off about them splitting Black Widow and Hawkeye into different teams. So if that’s true, wouldn't one of them (likely Widow) be the obvious choice to be a double agent?

It’s Black Widow. The double agent has to be Black Widow. She trusts Steve more than Tony.

Yeah but only slightly, it’s “Cumberland Bandersnatch” :)

Exactly. I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy had planets getting wiped out, but at the end of the day it was still a movie that made you cry in sympathy for a talking raccoon. Same with Thor 2, which I really liked — the last 20 minutes of that movie were pure bugfuck insanity, and it worked. Marvel doesn’t always hit the

Yeah, agree with this 100 percent. Nobody would have held it against Trank if he’d walked away from this film during pre-production. Any more than we judge Edgar Wright, or Guillermo del Toro for dropping out of The Hobbit. Or the countless other directors who have left films due to “creative differences.” It’s a

Marvel/Fox/WB are too big. They are going to make the films they want to make.

But at least Affleck isn’t Snyder. I’d take the competent (though nothing amazing) thriller Argo over the dour cluster duck that was Man of Steel. Bringing in Affleck as the biggest DCCU director is a step in the rich direction.

Warner Bros. execs: “Well, if the DCCU tanks, there’s always Batman. You guys still like the Batman, right? See, if you say it with the ‘the’ it sounds cooler.”
