Entities have an XYZ axis (Even “things” in Doom have XYZ). Build engine can do floor over floor, as can Marathon and Dark Forces. You’re absolutely right, these are easy questions to answer. Unfortunately answering them doesn’t solve this debate.

Build engine features voxels and the world data for these engines are all defined via vertices, lines and sectors - which are polygonal in nature. Dark Forces also features 3D models. So there goes your attempt at coming up with a technical consensus, unfortunately (and I’d love to have a hard technical definition for

It’s also very weird to say “2.5D” - how can you have half a dimension?

Calling it “fake 3D” is still a really weird thing to say. These are early attempts at 3D graphics, just because it doesn’t use traditional triangle rasters that we have these days doesn’t mean it’s not 3D - it’s just done with lots of compromises.

I’m still incredibly tempted to get gaudy anime girls all over my Suzuki Swift (big anime boobs, bikinis, all that ridiculous crap). Calling it a “painmobile” sounds perfect to me.

Stick to the DS version.

I expect the original non-cheat category would now be called “Any% Vanilla” and no-one would run it for the reasons stated in this article.

They’ve already got those PVE “Omnic” robots from that King’s Row event, so this kind of game-mode is probably already possible.

The PC port also supports a DualShock 4 right out the box

How charming.

It’s very big in Garrys Mod. I bet that when counterstrike source came out with its mad physics and props it was developed there first, but I definitely know it from Garrys Mod.

The graphical technique this game uses is based on the work done for Guilty Gear Xrd, which pretty much employed every technique possible and lots of research to get the 2D-3D look.

You’re suggesting every kid is a guitar god or teenage science prodigies or builds idea with Arduino boards? I doubt you’ve ever seen a single child in your life if you seriously believe this.

I did think about this, but I disagree. The value of the Switch is rather good and a TV is not needed (part of why the value is so good).

$70 is a lot of money for 5 hours of fun and learning. No kid will sit down for 10 hours working on building a robot, 5 hours is a stretch too and these kits are a thing you build once then play with a couple times until it breaks - that’s where the value is lost.

Yeah I’m very excited about Nintendo testing this market and exploring its audience and potential, I want them to do well and succeed, but honestly $70 is a heck of a lot of money - especially for something that may be a one-off that’s then put in storage (and being cardboard, may even get damaged).

Totally this. The “angry feminist” meme made me lose faith in the video’s message, but the bad definition of racism (and I am unable to provide a better definition) makes me think their argument isn’t that strong.

Ugandan Knuckles is as racist as the Swedish Chef from the Muppets.

Skip the first 47 seconds, it’s just blabbing on about how the alphabet is important.

I think it’s a confident step forward for Nintendo. Explores an audience and is a good test to see if there’s a desire for this kind of thing.
