The manuever would probably be more akin to skipping a rocket-powered rock off of venus's atmosphere instead of "dropping". Things that drop too far into Venus's atmosphere die a quick, horrible death. 

Why? NASA has a long tradition of coming up with the acronyms. It’s fun and doesn’t hurt anyone. Do you think they have to attach fewer sensors to a probe because someone spent some time coming up with a catchy acronym?

Cable TV died because millenials ran away from the constant barrage of advertisements. Advertisers didn’t know how to reach us for a sweet, sweet decade on the internet.  Now they’ve found us and the zoomers online and the wonderful wild west is gone and data is ruining everything that was sublime.

It’s almost as if they’re being exploited or something.

It’s pretty idiotic - a lot of streamers find success precisely by NOT running ads at all, and instead relying on Twitch subs and donations, which Twitch gets to take a sizeable chunk out of as their cut.
