I've already been grumbled at about suggesting this, but: single-car qualifying. 

At least .25 miles confirmed so far. 

People laughed when I said Ford is the player to watch in the EV wars. Tesla has a long lead, but Ford is putting in the most serious effort of any of the old guard. Not dipping their toes with uninspiring commuter cars, they want to win hearts. Same approach Tesla had.
A case can be made with Porsche as well, but…

Holy shit, all the talk of the sound being such a big part of racing that electric would ruin is just not true.

I feel like rally cross is an area where electric could really shine. Short races and a need for a lot of power and torque. With the batteries mounted low in the chassis and the ability to vector torque to the drive train even more specifically, I could enjoy that even more than I do now.

The visual is as ridiculous as you’d think.

Putting him in a car with Autopilot engaged would be a more elegant solution.
