I’ve owned two first gen GTs (a 90 and a 91) and to this day still drive my second gen 1995 GT, bought new in July 1995 with now 148k miles on the clock. A 5 speed with almost no factory options. It’s a fun car to drive, not fast, but it’s peppy and its V6 sounds great.
I owned a ‘93 Probe GT for 22 years. Yes, 22 years. I bought it new and drove it until it was pretty much dead. I’ve never understood why this car didn’t get more love than it did. Thank you for the nice in-article placement of the Probe picture! I was afraid no one got any pictures of them at all! Hah! Can’t wait for next time. I’m hoping to actually have time to talk to some people when it comes around again.
You can’t tell the gen2 Probe anything; the gen2 Probe tells you!
Mx-6, 626, and Probes had atrocious automatic transmissions.
2nd gen Probe didn’t have pop-ups? Someone better tell the 2nd gen Probe that....
but shouldnt jalopnik collectively prefer the Ford Probe because pop up headlights?
Hooned to death.
There’s black MX-6 at my apartment complex that hasn’t moved once for at least 8 months. It has no obvious defects either and would clean up really nicely. It’s a real shame. Somebody still cares about it too because they at least had the decency to park it under a carport so it doesn’t fry in the sun.
With an available 1.8L V6!!!! Hell yes.
You were right to get in trouble for this take.
[insert “hot hatch” pun here]

So, he planned to do it one piece at a time?
