There’s one way to settle this. Have Ailes pull out his genitals and see if they resemble red, raw hamburger meat. On the O’Reilly Factor. “We’ll do it live!”

Horrible but not surprising. I think a lot of people assume Bill Cosby’s actions were unusual, when the truth is behavior ranging anywhere from sexual harassment to outright rape has long been seen as one of the perks of fame & power. If you could get Ailes and other men to speak honestly about their actions, they’d…
The woman didn’t deserve to be jailed, obviously, but not showing up to testify against the person you reported isn’t going to help other DV victims either and wastes everyone else’s time. I’m sure the police, prosecutors and judges run into that problem a lot.
People at the airport.
I’m a Black chick, a Trekkie, a writer, and a SF/fantasy nerd and I disagree. Whenever they remake a beloved character ‘cause it is a “brand” like Iron Man - I drop the series. It is insulting and lazy & the Marvel universe has gotten totes ridiculous.
I remember reading Night in high school. It was absolutely heartbreaking.
I understood why you choose the photo you did. I hope I didn’t cross the line, I just wanted others to know how unnecessarily violent that poor girl’s attack was. Sometimes, the imagination just won’t do.
Yeah, I didn’t want to make that the header because it’s really graphic, but it’s so important that people know how violent this was.
“Glieberman’s sexism isn’t necessarily put forth here in an obvious way”
So wait, I shouldn’t give my cat real booze?
The flag for me, of the veracity of the “source” is the alleged “don’t report anything you saw that wasn’t a crime.” That is SUCH a legal office sort of command—- has deniability in case a crime he did emerges but rules out character or problematic interaction reports.
Talking to a friend about this case and we decided it’d be glorious if every time some dickbag uses the ‘boys will be boys’ line to characterize any sort of sexual harassment/assault/rape a woman punched him in the balls (possibly while yelling ‘scrote smash!’) and then shrugged it off as ‘girls will be girls.’
Nothing but a whiny scumbag. “Gee whiz, your honor, I was just totally blotto therefore the heinous crimes I committed while drunk are actually society’s fault”...the sad refrain of the drinker. I hear (non-rapist, fortunately) variations on this theme all the fucking time. The world owes it to drunks to protect them…
the people (women) who see the signs before it gets to this point are usually dismissed because he’s “awkward” or “socially inept” and are encouraged to “give him another chance”
He took pictures of his victim. I thought I disliked this douche before. Now I think he should go see how good his swim times are in shark infested waters. Sue his family, fair maiden. I am not litigious, but daddy is an ass and a wealthy contractor. Sue them so hard their great-grandchildren will know how the family…
It’s a power and dominance thing, I bet. He’s objectifying women and diminishing their humanity. Such a remark serves to humiliate them and make them feel self-conscious. He probably doesn’t really see women as people but as objects for his enjoyment.
Notice how the Stanford statement explicitly denies a complaint was ever made, but not that the team was pressured to not make statements?
