Really? The disk drive, which has to be roughly the same size as the regular model out of necessity, seems to occupy a bigger portion of the console’s total size.

I really don’t think we’ll get a PRO version this generation. There’s really not need to. I think the PlayStation 5 will have a slightly shorter lifespan than its two predecessors, and we’ll get a PlayStation 6 in 2025, 2026 the latest.
About the localization thing, most likely in the context of the game it will be perfectly clear that he’s talking about Tifa, so using her name directly would feel redundant.
Japanese is a more ambigous language, so it’s more prone to make repetitions for clarity that are just not necessary in other languages.
Unlikely. He’s been doing this for years at this point, and he’s given this treatment to a ton of Nintendo games. The guy is over one million subscribers, so Nintendo is most definitely aware of him.
I’m on the camp that agrees with the premise that more diverse opinions are good... but those diverse opinions must have good arguments, and this review just doesn’t have those.
Fun fact, Martinett has also voiced his characters in other language dubs. The ones that I’m 100% about are both Spanish dubs (as in, European and Latin American) and... Catalan! (a regional language in northeast Spain). This is because Martinet lived in Spain several years in his youth, so he speaks the language…
I said before and I’ll say it again: the reason why corporations are so adamant to push AI forward is because the endgame of AI is to create slaves that present no moral issues. And no “developing technology so we can cut down wages” is not a moral issue.
Not to mention the D-Pad was attrocious and the layout of the front buttons was awkward as hell for the vast majority of non-Nintendo games. Heck, I’d say it was even awkward for a lot of Nintendo games as well.
Honestly, we should have seen this coming.
The only reason why Square Enix purchased Eidos was because the company bought in the whole “Japan is finished” trend among the Western video game intelligentsia of the late 2000s that was then replicated at home by the likes of Keiji Inafune.

I live in Tokyo, and they have a display unit at the Yodobashi Camera in Akihabra, and I’ve seen in it a couple of times.
To be honest... I’m not impressed.
I don’t know if it is because the screen was reproducing a promotional video, rather than showing actual gameplay footage, but the difference in image quality I…
The NGC controller praise has way too much nostalgia googles. Objectively speaking, the controller’s only good standing feature was its ergonomics, but the rest was an exercise in shortsighted and misguided design.
It was perfect for Nintendo games... and little to nothing else.
FFVII Remake is not really a remake. It’s a stealth sequel.
So that’s definitely NOT a good point of reference.
I think the reason why so many games assign the standard attack to shoulder buttons is because... Well, mainly because “Dark Souls” did it.
But also because using shoulder buttons for attacking leaves your thumb free for moving the camera with the right stick during combat without having to move the thumb back and…
You’re right... and wrong at the same time.
About that CG, there’s something to be kept in mind here.
Toei has been experimenting with CG animation in general a lot recently in the “Dragon Quest: Dai No Daibouken” remake, and the results, while still flawed, are actually pretty promising. Specially the camera work: it’s silk smooth!
Pan’s design is that of a Kindergarten Japanese kid, meaning she’s likely 3. At the end of Z she was supposed to be 4, so we’re still in the Pre-End of Z days.
What do you mean “right now”?
You:
I don’t get it. What’s the step back here?
