This so much! Convention centers are plain so they appeal to all conventions. All conventions of a certain type follow a model because no one expects people in mass from New York to fly to California for a convention. Instead they host one on each cost and make more money while making the experience easier and cheaper

“Elite” doesn’t mean “not free.”  Aside from the fact that they sold a limited number of tickets to their “after party”...

As somebody who cosplays, admires other cosplays, and goes to over half a dozen conventions per year, it’s hard to describe why this strikes me as being incredibly pretentious and seriously rubs me the wrong way.

Even if it’s not technically elitist by fact of being free and open to the public, I was at Katsucon and I didn’t hear a peep about this. You look at the group shot and I can’t find a dark-skinned person there. It’s indicative of how shitty the cosplay scene and cosplay photography scene are in general when so many

“Something started to get to me as we went to convention after convention - they’re all the goddamn same”, he says. “Sure, maybe this one has a cool guest, or maybe that one is more focused on gaming, or anime, hey this one has a waterslide! But the formula is 95% the same across all of them: expensive rooms,

Complaining about your job is one thing, blaming cons for not meeting your needs when you’ve deliberately gone out and made a thing that does not exist solely to be a venue for your job in the first place into your job is no less misplaced.

it just seems to me like its just a more exclusive, less crowded version of conventions. what that probably means is it excludes the common rabble and only allows those in who pass a certain level of detail and craftsmanship in their outfits, probably pre-approved of course, established photographers, and those who

I need to learn more about SClass, but if it becomes popular how does it not run into the same issues that the actual cons themselves have run into?

I dislike the use of the quote “they’re all the goddamn same”. Yeah, they are more or less. Conventions are a business. You’re doing your cosplay as a business. If the conventions are were you have to go to flex your business and make money, boo hoo that they’re all the same - you’re doing this as a business.

The irony is that because of all the masks some idiot like me decided to make a big post showing them all in close detail.

I think it would be better just to remove all medals that are kill related, and not objective related. Medals for healing, buffing your team, being on the objective etc are all usefull. Make everyone who wants kill streak medals fight for the one replay we all know they are going to get anyway.

It’s my favorite game that I quit a long time ago because of the community.

Oh hey, that’s my nephew Wade’s roomate. Small world.

I don’t think this is a cosplay...
I think it’s a figure/statue....

Those costumes might be neat, but I can barely see them around all the filters and shit.

This. Since the culture is so entrenched, a lot of employees are going to resent the changes and fight it tooth and nail either because 1) they really, truly don’t understand why this kind of workplace behavior is toxic and/or 2) they like it just the way it is. Leadership needs to be 100% on board and have a deep

Honestly, even as a fan of timeline discussions for Zelda, I’m okay with this. And I kinda figured that’s what they were doing anyways, as I played through BotW. It allows for the original timelines to have all occurred, while leaving an open slate for new entries.

On a serious note, every walk in cooler has a switch to turn off the refrigerator on the inside. In case you get locked in you likely won’t freeze to death because you can turn off the fan and refrigeration unit. More than likely if it wasn’t just a sudden heart attack type thing, I’d be leaning towards suffocation

I actually think housing shortages are the bigger problem with AirBnb than hotel lobbyists. I’m sure the latter are pissed that a significant portion of their business has found accommodations elsewhere, but in dense city places where people purchase housing specifically to rent out takes those dwellings away from

Well, in this case it’s made by a professional studio with a considerable budget and a lot of professional-grade fabrication equipment and materials. They work hand-in-hand with/fot companies like Blizzard so they probably had several weeks or months of advanced design specs.
