Yea, that's why I added lazy to qualify my statement that it's not the engine's fault in the slightest, just other devs that used defaults or variations thereof "because they worked".

I don't see that being impossible to do in real-time in all honesty, these are still very much exciting times for video games and graphics tech :)

It doesn't sound like the dog had much of a choice in the matter to be fair, but that story is both hilarious and awesome :D

I completely agree, there's quite a few subtle details they miss from the theatrical cut too that all serve to keep you guessing about Deckard, it really is a shame the original theatrical cut was so butchered.

It doesn't have to be old to be "slow", characters and plot trump a fast-paced non-stop action movie any day of the week in my opinion.

Yea definitely, I backed Star Citizen when I first saw it announced, being a huge fan of old space sim games like the X-Wing series, Star Lancer, Freespace etc. It looks absolutely gorgeous, there's still tons of bugs and kinks to work out as with all in-dev games, but the attention to detail and sheer scope and

Yup, very true, and it's why most MMOs don't look that amazing (I'm generalizing, there are some really pretty ones out there) and stylized design only gets you so far.

My sentiments precisely, there's plenty of people saying "no game on PC has a game that looks this good" but that's because most games are predominantly made for console first and have been this way for quite some time now.

This is all I can think of looking at them:

I was thinking that same exact thing, hurrah! +1 for you :D

You know what I really want to see come back? God damn throne rooms! Perhaps with a spin on it such as customisation of a leader's home exterior or interior, or the building at the centre of that faction's infrastructure.

So much excitement indeed! I used to play the hell out of Alpha Centauri, and yes I know they're trying to go a new direction with it but come on, it's SciFi Civ and we all know that's awesome.

Eww :P

Don't remind me of such terrible disappointments haha :D this game looks enough distanced from that though to stand on its own merits, hopefully it ends up good!

It's like film noir mixed with Mass Effect and it's glorious!

Yea, I'm definitely hoping it'll get finished, although I imagine the hardest part of all will be the video footage of the characters, hopefully they got their hands on higher resolution source material with which to marry better into the game.

Yea, there's definitely a certain atmosphere and charm to the 2D versions, but this project does look exciting nonetheless

I hope so, if the code is in there to be enabled it would be great.

Accurate to my reaction :D

So when are we going to get a real explanation as to why the PC version doesn't have that fantastic lighting system? If they just turned things off in their new engine to help the game run better in all areas of the console version it should be a simple thing to enable them again for the PC release.
