I just watched Midsommar and ... WOW. That was fantastic. And Florence Pugh was so, so good. I’m late on a lot of these other movies, so this is not to suggest any of them are bad, but why not a nod to Ari Aster? Dude is an absolute superstar in his genre.

While it would have been nice of you to indicate you were going to spoil the first movie, I can’t help but agree with your sentiment. I just posted that the twist was really the only thing that made this otherwise pedestrian movie a decent watch. And of course the sequel is going to shit on it.

no.  just no.  The ONLY aspect of the original that made it even remotely decent was the rather creative third act twist.  Fuck this sequel!

This is a freaking amazing story, and I love all the detail you include about your wrenching.  I’m a total novice when it comes to this stuff, but I find it utterly fascinating.  Your level of knowledge and know-how is extremely impressive.

I’m a gen x’er who enjoyed the silliness of the original Party of Five back in the day. And this one, at least conceptually, seems like a good, timely update. But ... wow the ads make it look like a (inexplicably) schmaltzier This Is Us. I’ll give it a shot but i’m not hopeful.
