That article is fantastic for the simple fact that the moderator had to close the comments when folks kept posting all kinds of goofy New Age-y quotes and links to all sorts of kooky youtube vids.

Everyone is right about Season 2. I’m being too hard on it ... definitely has its moments early on, and the last episode is fantastic. But that middle stretch ... hoo boy.
S3 IS the greatest piece of TV ever made
I am curious to watch this, but man, FOUR HOURS?! Haha that is ... something.
This is so perfect. I give you all my perfect stars (I only have one)
Agreed wholeheartedly.
I was a projectionist at a movie theater during its first run. I would try to saunter into the auditorium during the nurse scene as often as I could, just to experience the audience’s fresh reaction over and over again.
We are basically the exact same age, and I too saw the TV broadcast of Halloween in 1981. My parents are ALSO first gen hippies. We should be best friends.
If you love the movie (I love the movie!), I recommend listening to the Season of the Witch episode of “How Did This Get Made?” Probably my favorite episode!
HELL HOUSE, LLC!!!! YES! I’ve been screaming about this movie for 2 years to whoever will listen. If you are a horror movie fan, follow Katie’s recommendation. It’s a can’t miss. Genuinely creepy and, at times, genuinely scary. And one of the very few found footage movies that justifies the existence of the…
I’m all for plot developments best described as “for some reason.”
Oh that’s fucking brilliant
YES! Ball placement is just kinda “close enough-ish” during the game, until the last couple minutes of a half or the game ... then suddenly the refs are ultra-precise. They are the same way with the clock (and the clock managers seemingly play right along). At the end of the half or the game, microseconds of time…
I’m with you 100% on this. Reading the book is informative. The book is very lurid. Friedkin tones down some of the more lurid aspects in his film. And, for sure, Regan was a child. I don’t buy the anti-feminist accusation. It gives the book and the movie a little too much credit, in my opinion. It’s not so deep.
I’m disappointed if this movie is anything other than a shot-for-shot remake of Batman Forever.
Ah I forgot about Red State! I enjoyed it. Entertaining from start to finish.
Agreed. Clerks II was surprisingly ... ok?
I was thinking the same! I’m reading this, loving it, and thinking ... “I’m signing up ... thanks Katie!”
You deserve more stars for this perfectly strange little vignette!
It’s either 1, which is unprecedented, or 5 (or 6)
