Spot on.  It’s so incredibly sad.  That’s what makes it SO dark.  I love the book, and I love the original adaptation, AND I’m looking forward to this.  The book feels like it is as bleak and as dark as the situation warrants.  Losing a child?  Shit.  I don’t ever want to imagine.
