This is terrific. If you haven’t read her short story collection (Homesick for Another World) I HIGHLY recommend it.  It was my first introduction to her work.

Came here to say this. Def Leppard was (and is) decidedly not metal. I was 10 when Pyromania came out (and, in turn, 15 when Hysteria was released). No one categorized them as metal, even then. I really like this article, but I reject that premise.
