I second this.  It’s also not ideal because - as a consequence of it being straight up and down - it forces you to do the exercise in an unnatural way.  Lifting heavy weight off your chest requires various muscles in your chest and shoulders working together.  If you constrain that movement to a strict vertical, you

J sounds as good as ever.  Can’t wait to hear more of that killer shredding.

And I’ve always felt the lyrical content is simply designed to sync up with the aggression in the music. It rarely feels like “I’m singing about Satan because I love Satan and I want you to also love Satan,” but rather, “I’m singing about Satan because that’s some aggressive shit ... like this music I’m thrashing out

I live in Florida and, as you might imagine, we are HAMMERED with political ads on a daily basis.  And if there is one consistent message among all of the GOP ads it is exactly this.  FEAR.  I just said to my wife two days ago, “what the fuck are Republicans so afraid of?!  Jesus!”  Every fucking ad seeks to hammer

I just re-watched Mindy St. Clair’s second episode, and laughed as hard as I did the first time around.  Explaining to Eleanor why they always end up leaving the Medium Place: “sometimes you walk in on me while I’m masturbating.  Sometimes I walk in on you while I’m masturbating ...”

I love everything you’re doing here, Nick! Good review and great cartoon.

Really enjoyed episode 4.  Amanda Peet was awesome.

This episode certainly had a lot of potential, it just never seemed to find its footing. I don’t disagree with you that there was no reason for this episode to carry on any particular theme, but I wish I could see the point.  It was just kind of a muddled mess when it was all said and done.

What about Pop Rocks and dirt?

I had to look back at the combination three times to see if I was missing something on this one.

So many misses! So few hits. :(

I was really disappointed in this episode, and thought it was the worst of the three. I actually quite enjoyed the first two episodes, which seemed to be operating on a similar theme: that is, the pathetically weak man who feels entitled because of his royal roots, and the way that perceived entitlement plays out

Here, here.  This is wonderful.  A truly great piece of journalism.

You mentioned Love & Mercy in your review, which, in my mind, is a perfect kind of biopic. Oh, and a fantastic movie to boot.  I’d like to see more of that approach, and less of the kind of sweeping arc of this by-the-numbers bio.

I haven’t seen it either. I guess my confusion about your comment (and maybe who cares?  I don’t know) is that Dowd doesn’t have skin in the game either, so why is it bad that he keeps reminding AV Club readers that he didn’t like it?  I thought this article was interesting at least in terms of the contrasting

Your reaction to this piece is so ... odd. You understand that criticism isn’t necessarily “right or wrong,” right? I mean, a movie isn’t objectively good or bad. That’s not a thing. Dowd’s opinion - and it is exactly that, an opinion - differs from others, but that doesn’t make it somehow incorrect. Are you mad that

Oh man you beat me to the punch. This is the first scene I thought of. And by the way, I’m a Death Proof fan through and through. Loved it.

This is SO perfect.

I do the same with my bread.  Can mold grow on frozen bread?  I’ve never seen it (but I guess it could still be there).
