I thought it was Bentley Bunga Bunga.

I don’t know what’s more impressive. That some rich owner who’s barely familiar with the track can beat the production car record set by a racing driver by 1.5 seconds, or that a road legal production car that’s roughly 1/20th the price could get relatively close in time to a 1000hp focused racing variant of an…
However, the process of the driver shifting the gears in a DCT is still not mechanical, right? It was under my assumption that the shift paddles are connected to a switch, unlike say a sequential manual racing transmission.
Well, I mean if you’re only racing against other Model Ss (esses?), then outright speed isn’t really an issue. You can make a racecar out of almost anything as long as it can hold up to the abuse and meets whatever safety standards there are. Aside from burning through tires and brakes faster, they could still race…
Although it is a luxurious super tourer it seems to be made for racing. Its weight distribution and astonishing low center of gravity, despite its considerable mass – more than two tons unmodified – allows unbelievable cornering speed, not forgetting its unending torque, which all add up to a great racing car.
To be honest, it’s always the case that people will (perhaps rightfully) be hyped about some car featuring something even if it’s an expensive option and not standard. Nobody dismisses the Z06's track accomplishments as irrelevant simply because you need to pony up extra money for the Z07 pack in order to meet those…
It’s a James Bond gadget they pre-emptively installed. Probably hoped for an oil slick or spikes to slow down baddies in chase, but for health and safety reasons they have to make do with just water instead.
Doesn’t the base Grand Sport still come with all the hardware on a base Z06 minus a blower? That’s quite a bit more than just a Z51 with fender flares. Unless you really want every last 10th of a second on the track, the Z07 package is probably going to be overkill for most.
Yeah, they sound like a real dick.
In the end it’d just be cheaper to let the owner tune it themselves. Then they can decide themselves to fuck off with emissions, drivability, and lasting 200,000 miles and stick a massive camshaft and racing headers if they so desire.
Keeps the blinker fluid chilled to the perfect temperature.
The 2-stage turbos sound interesting, but if that’s sequential turbocharging then Porsche did that in the 1980s with the 959 and the Supra and RX7 did that at a much lower price point in the 90s. I’m not really sure how much more interesting this car would really be if they made it a hybrid, it’d up the technology…
Are you blind? It looks nothing like any of Koenigsegg’s previous cars. The Agera, CCX, CCR, and CC8S all looked like the same car with a gradual evolution, but good or bad the Regera doesn’t share much in common with those at all.
0-60 times are a useless metric for any car that is half as powerful as this and only RWD on street legal tires. It’s going to be extremely traction limited and unable to use full available torque until it’s going faster. AWD generally lets you get quite a bit more torque to the ground before it starts slipping, so…
Downforce doesn’t really help off the line, unless you’ve got some sort of fan powered vacuum underneath that can provide force irrespective of vehicle speed.
The Chiron looks like it requires a backwards hat, basketball shorts, and a lot of gold chains. Or whatever the heck Saudi princes wear. It just seems like the kind of thing someone with billions of dollars but no real interest in cars would buy simply because it’s the most expensive car on sale. The Koenigsegg looks…
It’s 5441 lb curb weight, meaning the Model X weighs that much by itself. That’s heavy, but considering a Model S weighs ~4900lb and the X is a larger SUV, it doesn’t seem that bad. The GVWR is 6768lb, but all that means is you’re legally allowed to load it with 1327lb of passengers and cargo.
It seems every episode of this anime ends with a massive (but amazingly well-written) cliffhanger. I find it really adds to the suspense having to wait a week, but I’d binge the crap out of it if I could.
