Also policing isn’t even that dangerous of a profession. I think its like #22 . Anyone working construction, landscaping, masons, crossing guards, farmers, delivery drivers, roofers, garbage collectors have way more dangerous jobs. It also encourages drunk driving. People cant afford the tickets/cant afford to take an Uber, so they try to drive home. Happened where I used to live (smaller town) where they would target students.

I usually don’t mind Rappaport - he is usually pretty spot on - BUT this was kinda school yard stuff. That being said , I dont like the fact that Durant used homophobic slurs to go after him. He should know better being a public figure, and more importantly not being a prick to the LGBTQ community. Everyone has a Read more

I have never evern thought of having to have a discusssion about how to “behave” or “handle yourself” in situtations with the police. I have never had any real interaction outside of the occaisional speeding ticket - but it’s probably how I look and where I live. Its fucking heartbreaking.

Even if you take race out of the equation (which you shouldn’t) putting a 6 year old on the ground at gunpoint is FUCKING INSANE. What part of any of that makes sense? How do you even get to that decision?

For almost all of these police shootings, there is almost never an immediate threat. Even if this kid waved his gun out the window (which I doubt) after coming back from dentist and subway - there was NO threat walking into his home. He had a sandwich and mask in his hands according to his family, absolutely no Read more

I will say that in this case, they said and appear to be doing the right things. No hiding behind unions, SIU investigations, sweep it under the rug stuff. Denounce, distance and dig deeper is a good start.  Read more

I agree, but then you have to kind of pay them more. I have a few physicians in my family, they have insurance and its very expensive. A lot of police do not make a lot of money, asking them to pay expensive insurance premiums on top of that would almost certainly deter people from becoming police; or you would end up Read more

I have always wondered this about racists..... If they dont like someone of a certain (all) races - why do they feel the need to interact with them? Just leave them alone. If I go somewhere that I don’t really like the people, I leave them alone - it makes my life easier. Makes no sense to me.
