Admires the distance by which the sarcasm went over your head….
Labored, bloody (well, it *is* vampires on a rampage), Warren Ellis writing at his worst, some terrible voice saying, rather crunch faux-anime animation.
He’s a dog. The Inhuman transformed into a giant teleporting dog thing was retconned as a gag pulled on the Thing.
I’m from the English Midlands myself, and I’ve been here in Tucson for 21 years now (time flies when you’re being torched.) I’ve seen more than a few skin cancers among friends, so it’s something I take seriously. Not to mention having to make some choices, as I react badly to a lot of sunscreens.
“Just as much” was the phrase. It’s a bit tongue in cheek as I’m a pasty white guy with Scots, Irish, and Viking genetics, so it’s pretty much defaulting to zinc coating when the sun’s involved (honestly, I have to wear sunscreen in the winter.)
There’s a town in the west of Arizona called Last Horse.
Yeah, I’m up around Prince/1st, and we generally get slightly higher readings from the weather station here (Campus Farms, I think.) Today, the last time I looked, it was running at 114F and likely to rise (and one friend reported 117F where she was) while some of the surrounding weather stations were reporting…
I’m also on Furosemide, a diuretic. Last week, it had me running to the bathroom every twenty minutes. The last time I took one...twice in three hours, and then nothing.
This time last year Tucson bounced off a 118F day. Yesterday, at 110F. was a cakewalk. Well, if you think of a cakewalk as involving going out shopping with a friend, and both of us going along reloading liquid between stores...and only being out in the open for under a minute each time. Since leaving for the store…
Same thought applies to Los Angeles (permanent inversion layer that led to the NI population calling it “the Valley of the Smokes” as I remember), New Orleans (hey, a swamp, let’s build on it!), much of Florida (see New Orleans) and so on. If human beings had a lick of sense, the Middle East would be mostly…
Lots of stuff grows in deserts. The Sonora Desert actually has a pretty robust ecosystem. And nearly as many things that want to eat you as parts of Australia.
Same here. The major difference is that I don‘t have to wear a spacesuit to go outdoors during the winter in Tucson, and I have to wear just as much sunscreen as I would in Vermont...but we don’t get the mosquitoes and super mugginess of a Vermont summer. Also, low humidity, sand, and extra dust beats mud and high…
Eh, it’s all a Chinese hoax, mah president says so and we all know President Trump never lies or nothin’ like that. #MakingAmericaBurnBabyBurn
If you’re an on-record Crazy Person, there’s no respect for your life from the PD anywhere in this country. As far as they’re concerned, you’re probably a danger to them, and chances are they’ll shoot you without pause even if the issue is that you’re suicidal.
Essentially, people with mental health interventions on their record will be flagged with that information, with links to the records in question. This will come up in a call opf this kind, regardless of the reason for the call, and the dispatcher will act accordingly. There *was* a time when non-Police intervention…
As do I. First thing that came to mind before I saw the headline.
"My hair always looks like a hedgehog has been humping it."
That combo clip/trailer left me traumatized. What this film is going to do to kids...yeeeeeesh.
The ones with huge dicks and the willingness to show and tell.
