I was going to say, the Asylum has nothing to fear.

I would have sworn initially that it was Bad Translation of lyrics sung in Cantonese, but, nope, phonetic performance of English from the sounds of it, and apparently a bad translation into English. I agree with you, though...staggeringly awesome. Not sure about the genius tag, though.

First line from Aida next week: "My robot brain needs beer."

Unfortunately, yes. Which is why we have only five seasons of PERSON OF INTEREST, and not seven.

Well, to start with, none of the musicians are getting paid on the level of a U2 or Van Halen (which isn't to say they aren't getting paid well; they just aren't going home mega-rich.) It's very likely that everyone on these things is actually getting paid reasonably, but not exorbitantly, and from the interview

So, basically, this is Apple: the Series, with Ford as Steve Jobs, Arnold as Steve Wozniak, and Delos playing the part of the outsiders who bought in and kinda fucked things up.

Not as extreme a situation, I admit, but how about this — Ford is Steve Jobs, Arnold was Steve Wozniak.

You mean Manuel “Manny” Both-Hanz?

Katharine, you’re just so beautiful when the High Dudgeon is upon you!

I thought it was Katharine Trendacosta drunk reviewing the thing....

That was my big takeaway from this -- the 5.1 sound mix on the show was fantastic, and gave my subwoofer a good workout.

Let’s go for the gusto — Tilda Swinton in a beard.

I signed up and loaded the app to my Amazon Fire Stick.

I can deal with the charging for the content...it means I’ll buy one less Criterion release a month, big deal. The fact that their Roku app is six months away yet is fantastically stupid, however.

For shits and giggles I signed up and loaded the FilmStruck app to my Fire Stick. I couldn’;t get past the sign in screen.

It’;s not a Netflix arm. This is Turner Broadcasting spinning off a streaming version of TCM.

Given that their Roku app is months off, and their system seems to have trouble right now with sign-ups, I’d say their tech division needs an upgrade.

The problem with Warner Archive Instant is that they only have a highly limited number of films and tv shows from the Warner Archive catalog on the streaming service. Something like 200 from a catalog of 3500+.

Oops, my bad, it’s Android users who can fuck and die. AppleTv already has an app for that.

I went from being a booster of Filmstruck, despite the fact that I’m paid up on Hulu until 2019 and a big chunk of the reason went away (they also yanked Naked City, which annoys me) to basically grumbling at them regularly.

This house is haunted by the echo of her last goodbye.
