A small correction, James — the multiverse came back as a result of Infinite Crisis, and consisted of 52 realities of various stripes, ostensibly protected by Rip Hunter and Booster Gold (although they did more to protect a single timeline.)

The Criterion Collection had three films with their own unique commentaries...Thunderball, Dr. No, From Russia With Love. The license was yanked, unfortunately, and the discs recalled. The commentaries are available on the net, and somebody made DVD versions of the laserdiscs (I came across them five or six years ago.)

The commentaries on most of the films are worth the purchase price, and the special feature set has been exemplary since the second generation of the DVDs, despite them not getting the rights to the Criterion Laserdisc commentaries.
