You can still call the library with your weird reference questions! Mostly older people do it. Our major public library had a call center and oh...the stories.

Alas neither, just a plain old unidentified woman, but she was in fact mighty cross that we could not supply her with her request. And needless to say logic was the loser in that conversation.

Even in the age of Google, the questions keep coming. The most legendary request I know of in our system was the woman who wanted to know where she could get a photo of a dinosaur. Not a photo of a dinosaur skeleton, or a dinosaur model in a museum: a photo of a real dinosaur in its natural habitat.

This is a woman who also went to see Ted because she thought it was about a boy and his teddy bear. She would not be swayed by a helpful media librarian.

My grandma only gets DVDs from the library. She borrowed Borat thinking it was actually a documentary.

The local news for some reason says, "Have a question? Call the library!" so we get all kinds of interesting questions. There are people that call every day.

Eh, definitely would regift him myself.

Ahhh hahaha we did this to my mom too! Told her our Marine brother couldn't come home until after Christmas Day and then had him jump out of a box. She almost deafened my daughter (who she was holding) with her scream, lol. Good times had by all!

I wish one day to drop the term traditional and nontraditional and just call families a family be they mom and son; husband and wife and child; an unmarried couple and child; dad and daughter. The variations are truly many. Lets just say family.

Who, indeed?

standing around in front of a Christmas tree wasn't really her kind of thing

Less math, more a comprehensive lit review spanning 39 peer reviewed studies over 3 decades. I wouldn't take the word of a Slate blogger as medical advice, but if you look at the journal article it makes a strong argument. Much like with drinking while pregnant, many of the recommendations are rooted in the idea

Thank you so much! As a life long hip hop fan, I certainly had no idea who he was referring to with the whole 8 Mile thing. What would I do without you?!

She is a very empathetic girl and I think talking about things helps her to understand how she's feeling. I am also big on honesty especially between us two.

For those who need it:

Was he actually speaking French, or just repeating 'Omelette Du Fromage' like on Dexter's Laboratory?

THERE'S VC EVERYWHERE IN THE COMMENTS!!!

I sincerely doubt that there was any ranch dressing in that kitchen to be had.

Talk about a Cuban missle crisis!

I guess so. Just thinking on copyrights and all that.
