I was just in the park for the first time in years this past August. It is very weird that you can’t get the KBF preserve in the park itself.  Maybe they can work something out with Smuckers.

I’ve spent my entire life in Southern California, and Knott’s has always been a respected brand here. Maybe someone can tell me whether it’s the same across the rest of the country. I’m also wondering whether it holds the same significance to younger generations.

My Miata was totaled last October. I’m still broken up about it, but it was not the worst thing to happen to me in the second half of 2023.

No, Knott’s Berry Farm sells products as Berry Farm, not Knott’s. Smucker’s does not want to sell Knott’s Berry Farm any more, so they should not not-allow Knott’s Berry Farm to sell Knott’s Berry Farm now, and not Berry Farm.

With qualities like those, I’m surprised the jerkoffs of G/O Media haven’t snapped them up.

Supposedly they still sell it online, there’s a link in the article.

Welp;, yet another product from my youth forever gone.

What Knott’s should be known for is the boysenberry, because Walter Knott rediscovered the hybrid, gave it a name, and commercialized it. Boysenberries built Knott’s Berry Farm.

One of my earlier jobs was working retail/warehouse for Knott’s, when they’d sell these (along with pancake syrups and other stuff) in gift boxes. They converted a back patio of one of the bigger stores from the public marketplace area into gift box sales and we moved easily tens if not hundreds of thousands of them.

I ate at Cheesecake Factory for the first time this year.  With the size of the menu there has to be something healthy on it, right?  I’m a fast reader but I didn’t actually make it through the whole thing.

Yeah, but that’s retail.  You can be sure restaurants have negotiated the lowest prices available.

Went out for sushi recently. Spent $40. Still regretting it.

i went without kids so i could afford breakfast sammies when i got older. whos the fool now, huh?

That was my thought. The last time I decided to get a Egg McMuffin meal from McDonalds I ended up spending nearly $10.....for McDonalds.

As someone who is not quite 45 yet and has shown up 30 minutes late to his job regularly for the past 20 years, I resemble that remark!

Come on. As an older woman who simply can’t buy lunch because it’s so damnably expensive (fast food lunch usually costs more than the ingredients and prep for both breakfast and dinner, combined), you really think I’m going to pay for fast food breakfast I can make BETTER? No.

My ears definitely perked up during a small bit of ambient travel dialogue in Ragnarok when Mimir made reference to a being known as “Nimue,” i.e. the water nymph from Arthurian legend who has history with Merlin and who is also the “Lady in the Lake” who gifts King Arthur the sword Excalibur.

And Little Caesars remains both an anomaly and a revelation, with its large pepperoni pizza costing only $10.99.

Really, the ingredients only cost about $4-5 for a pizza, and I’m talking about more than just one topping. Even multiplying by 3, that’s $15. Add a few bucks for inflation and extra employee pay, and make it $20. Much higher than that, and you really better be doing something special, so yeah, up to about $25 is

Good food needs to be worth the money is the main thing.  Paying $40 for a good meal is a lot different than paying $40 for trash.
